What is SBIRT? – Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidenced based practice used to identify, reduce, and prevent problematic use and dependence of alcohol and illicit substances. SBIRT is an approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment to people with substance use disorders, and those at risk of developing these disorder.
