RI's prison-based medication treatment program featured in Addiction Professional Magazine

"Rhode Island has what is believed to be the first federally recognized opioid treatment program (OTP) delivering methadone treatment directly within a correctional facility. Overdose deaths among the recently incarcerated in the first six months of 2017 compared with the same period a year earlier were down 61%. That striking statistic was among the data most frequently cited in presentations by national leaders at last week's National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit in Atlanta."
