This three hour workshop provides participants with a comprehensive overview
on pregnant women and addiction. The session emphasizes early intervention, and how crucial it is in the outcome for mother and child, as well as the specific and more unique treatments available for these individuals. NAS (neo-natal abstinence syn-drome) and the use of medication assisted treatment & DSM 5 will be discussed, as well as socio-economic status, interpersonal violence, and social norms regarding parenting women.
