Important Announcement:
All trainings offered through the end of September 2020 will be held through various online platforms such as Zoom.
When attending a training in an online platform please be sure to use your full name as your user name and to have your video enabled.
Beginning August 25, 2020, participants will be required to have enabled video in order to receive CEUs for live, online trainings.
The Zoom details, materials, and pre-test information will be emailed one (1) week prior to the training date.
This training will explore and discuss issues and dynamics that are important in affirming the recovery of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex persons. We will identify the competencies involved in delivering these services, discuss terminology, examine the “coming out” process, and identify knowledge and skills that are necessary for substance use disorder treatment and recovery practitioners to know in order to nurture recovery in LGBT persons.
Continuing Education Credits:
Social Worker CEUs: This training has been approved by the National Association of Social Workers for 6.0 continuing education credits.
Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).
Mental Health Counselors CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Mental Health Counselors Association for 6.0 continuing education credits.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).
Please Note: A pre-test is required to be taken before the training. In order to receive a training certificate, each participant must complete a post-test, and training evaluation within ten (10) days of completing the training.
